Pastoral Council

Pastoral Council

The Pastoral Council is a consultative body, which unites laity and clergy in the community of prayer, leadership ,service, and pastoral planning.  The council recommendations deal with pastoral plans and policies, not parish administration.  The purpose is to promote the spiritual growth of individuals and the community of St. Mary's.

Pastoral Council meets every other month on the second Tuesday of the month.  Exceptions are made to the meeting date when necessity dictates. Next meeting: May 9, 2017, 6:30 P.M.  Mass is celebrated on Tuesday evenings at 6:00 P.M. for council members to attend prior to the meeting.

Pastoral Council is open to new members.  If you feel called to this ministry, please see Father Slawek.

Pastoral Council Members:  Rev. Slawomir Zimodro, John Hauptman, Chair; Jackie Jevne, Secretary; Dale Beswick, Roger Drey, Shayne Prange, Alvin Swearingen, Jane Swearingen, Ryan Zinke

 Minutes of the last meeting:

Father and Council decided to plan a Bible Study for Lent using DVD and study guides from Bishop Robert Barron.  The theme of the bible study is "Conversion: Following the Call of Christ".  Approximately 40 members of the parish have signed up to participate in the study on Thursday afternoons and evenings.

Council discussed our ongoing need for more people to join the music ministry.  No solutions at the time, except to invite and pray for response to the call.

Watch for improvements to the "physical face" of our St. Mary building both inside and out:  shrubs and trees will be planted this spring; new statues of Mary and Joseph will be placed in the sanctuary; Fran Plude is sharing her artistic talents by designing flower and foliage arrangements to beautify the sanctuary and enhance the liturgical season.
